Home Insurance Longbeach: Reasons Why It’s High Time To Change Your Homeowners Insurance

Posted on: November 7th, 2013

Home Insurance Longbeach: Things in life tend to evolve as time passes by. We have 10 times better mobile phones than we did just 5 years ago. We have better PCs, better cars, and better services. And better insurance.

And here’s the first reason why you need to change your homeowners insurance: because you can find a better offer than the one your signed a couple of years ago.

Then, if you are from Freeport, Hempstead, Longbeach, Long Island, Nassau County, Oceanside, Suffolk County, Westbury and you have recently had a baby, it is about time you considered revising your insurance policy.

Reason number three includes home renovations. Did you renovate your house or apartment recently? If so, its value might have risen. You could be underinsured. Of course, it is not imperative for you to change your home insurance; but in case of damage or losses, you will not be covered for your property’s real value.

Let’s move on to reason number four: did you know that a lot of home insurance policies cover objects and goods which are found inside your home? So if you’ve recently inherited or bought jewelry, fur, collectibles such as wine or fine arts, instruments, ancient guns and so on… you know it: revise your homeowners insurance.

Then, there is the one year rule. It means that, not matter if something big happened in your life (and in your home) or not, you should check your home insurance policy at least once every year. You will receive a renewal notice each year from your insurance company. That’s the perfect time to revise the coverage and terms of your policy.

Flood Insurance Suffolk County: How Do You Know If You Need Flood Insurance Nassau County?

Posted on: September 23rd, 2013

Flood Insurance Suffolk County: Are you looking for flood insurance Nassau County? Do you want to keep your properties safe from flooding and other types of water damage (e.g. natural disasters)?

You might not need this kind of insurance.

When you go to an insurance company and ask for insurance they will show you their insurance packages. Together with a company representative you will choose the pack you think fits your needs best.

If you live in Freeport, Hempstead, Longbeach, Long Island, Nassau County, Oceanside, Suffolk County, Westbury you will want to make sure you ask for flood insurance as well. These are areas which are prone to flooding and water damage. If you didn’t know, it is high time you found out that water damage restoration is not only costly, but also takes a lot of time. In time, mold sets in and more problems arise. And these problems don’t come cheap.

You will want to make sure that, if you live in an area which is threatened by floods, you are insured against such problems.

However, if the area you live in is not prone to floods, then by all means, do not have flood insurance. What would be the use?

There is one situation though, that you might want to consider (especially if you live in a block of flats). There is the possibility that pipes give up, and you could wake up one day with water leakage in your apartment. Not very pleasant, we know. Although this is not considered flooding, make sure that this situation is covered in your insurance policy.

Remember though: do not pay extra money for perils which do not threaten your home or the area you live in. If there aren’t any floods in your area, then flood insurance Freeport is simply useless.

Car Insurance Freeport: Learning How To Read Your Car Insurance Policy

Posted on: September 18th, 2013

Car Insurance Oceanside: Many people struggle with the technical jargon found on their car insurance policies. This is one of the main reasons why people don’t even bother to read the insurance policy and they just assume they know what they are covered for.

People from Freeport, Hempstead, Longbeach, Long Island, Nassau County, Oceanside, Suffolk County and Westbury make no exception.

We have noticed that this type of behavior is prevalent among those who have auto insurance, so we’ve put together a short guide on how to “read” and understand your car insurance policy. Above all, you need to understand the things you are covered for in your insurance and the things you are not:

Three sections for liability

In most auto insurance policies you will find three sections: liability insurance for bodily injury, liability insurance for property damage and uninsured/under-insured motorists’ coverage.

Two sections for property damage

Your auto insurance can be divided in two sections when it comes to property damage: collision coverage and comprehension coverage.

Your Insurance Policy

The policy is also divided in a number of sections, including types of coverage (liability, medical payments, uninsured/underinsured motorist, and coverage for damage to your auto), rights and obligations under the policy and exclusions or limitations.

Other insurance elements

There are two more pages in your car insurance policy: declarations page and insuring agreement. Read these carefully before you sign the insurance policy.

You will find the declarations page at the beginning of your insurance policy. It contains various information about the vehicle covered in the policy (such as an accurate description of the vehicle), information about the insured (you), and coverage limits.

The insuring agreement is a broad statement of the perils and risks covered under the contract.

Business Insurance Freeport: So It Is A Company-Owned Vehicle…

Posted on: August 23rd, 2013

Business Insurance and Common Sense : Why do you provide your employees with company-owned vehicles?

If you work in the transportation sector, it’s self-explanatory. Otherwise, company cars are seen as a luxury and it is believed only the most important employees in a company get such a vehicle.

However, the truth is more and more business owners choose to provide their employees with a company owned car as a way to reward them, or as a way to help them do their jobs (especially for those who are working on the field) in Freeport, Hempstead, Longbeach, Long Island, Nassau County, Oceanside, Suffolk County, Westbury.

But then a new problem arises for the business owner: how do you take care of these cars?

If you are thinking that your business insurance Long Beach will cover for them, you might be wrong. Business insurance Hempstead might not be enough as it might not cover your car fleet needs… And since you are compelled by law to have at least some sort of car insurance, your business insurance Long Island will not suffice.

What is the solution?

You could contact your business insurance Freeport company or your broker and talk to them about this issue. Maybe they have an ace down their sleeve and they can modify your business insurance Freeport to cover for cars as well (although the chances for this to happen are small).

Then, another solution could be to have your employees pay the insurance. If it is too much for them, the company could split the insurance with the employees. This way you only pay half of the insurance price and your employees contribute to it as well. However, make sure that this practice is legal – talk to your business insurance company or better yet to a lawyer before you add this practice into your systems.

Last but not least, ask the insurance company for car insurance. It doesn’t have to be expensive, but at least you will not break the law…
